The 2021 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Betway Cup will get underway this weekend with defending champions Bandari looking to retain the title.

Bandari, who won the last edition of the tournament after beating Kariobangi Sharks, were a win away from qualifying to the group stages of the Caf Confederations Cup after losing to AS Horoya FC of Guinea.

The Dockers will kick off their title defense in the round of 64 fixtures against National Super League (NSL) side Muranga Seals with last year’s finalists Kariobangi Sharks traveling to play Flamingo FC at Finlays Grounds in Naivasha.

In Nairobi, Tandaza will welcome MCF at Camp Toyoyo, Transfoc host Migori Youth, Elim face Ulinzi Stars, Uprising entertain Progressive and Marafiki play varsity side JKUAT on Saturday.

Other Saturday matches will feature Tiki hosting AFC Leopards in Wundanyi, Mutomo Tigers welcoming Nairobi City Stars in Kitui and Vegpro playing SS Assad in Longonot.

On Sunday, Posta Rangers will travel to face Rware in Ruringu, Kiandege Jets hosting premier league side KCB and Kitale All-Stars host Sofapaka among other matches.

Meanwhile, Gor Mahia’s match against Congo Boys has been postponed to a later date.

This is because K’Ogalo are scheduled to play a Caf Confederations Cup match against Napsa Stars on Sunday in Nairobi before travelling for the return leg in Zambia.

In addition to that, NSL sides Kisumu All Stars and Kisumu Hot Stars will not be playing in the cup competition after withdrawing their interest citing financial constraints.

The FKF Cup was halted last year due to the pandemic.
