National women football team’s 1-0 win over Uganda in Machakos on Wednesday proved valuable as the two sides settled on 0-0 in Kampala yesterday allowing Kenya to progress on goal aggregate.

Kenya will now meet Equatorial Guinea in the second round of the African Women’s Cup of Nations. Missing star striker Esse Akida, coach David Ouma brought in Mercy Achieng lining her up alongside Corazon Aquino and Sheryl Angachi.
