Hernandez has started just one Barclays Premier League fixture this season and is down the pecking order behind Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck.

He penned a five-year deal 12 months ago, but could be persuaded join the Serie A outfit who can offer him regular first-team football.

The Italian club are also willing to match Hernandez's current £80,000-a-week wages and hope to match his ambition by qualifying for the Champions League this next season.

The club currently occupy sixth in Italy’s top flight.
