Fireworks are expected when more than 15 universities battle in Athletics Kenya Universities Championships at Kabarak University today.

They include Kabarak, Egerton, Strathmore, Dedan Kimathi, Moi, Kibabii, University of Eldoret, Kabianga, Kenyatta, Masinde Muliro University of Science Technology and Kabianga.

Others are Technical University of Kenya, United States International University, Mount Kenya, Laikipia, Masai Mara, Kirinyaga, Murang’a and University of Nairobi.

Athletics Kenya Universities chairman Paul Tuitoek said they will select a team for the national championships set for Nyayo Stadium on August 20th to 22nd.

“We long to see have our athletes taking part in the national championships. We know the National Police Service, Kenya Defence Forces, Kenya Prisons and some AK branches will present some of the best athletes. But we can also challenge them in the national championships,” said Tuitoek, the Kabarak University team manager.
