Police acquire former KWPL champs Thika Queens

In a bid to comply with Confederation of African Football's (CAF) directive on having a women's team, Kenya Police has acquired three-time Kenya Women's Premier League champions Thika Queens.

A few weeks ago, the continental body issued a statement to its Member Associations informing them that all clubs intending to participate in next season's Champions League and Confederation Cup have until June 30 to comply with their order of having a women's team or risk being locked out of their competitions.
