Athletics Kenya (AK) president Jackson Tuwei and Anti-doping Agency of Kenya Director of Education and Research Agnes Mandu have landed global posts.

AK boss was appointed to the World Athletics (WA) Competition and Events Committee with Danish Jakob Larsen as the director of the unit, WA announced yesterday.

Tuwei was appointed alongside Cherry Alexander, the European Athletics Competition chairman, Euro Meetings President  lfonz Juck, Jean Pierre Schoebel, Wanda Diamond League representative.

Others in the committe are Anna Riccardi, the World Athletics Council, Duffy Mahoney, the USATF Chief of Sport Performance, Michael Serralta, the Competition Director of NACAC, Yukio Seki, JAAF International Relations Director, Yvonne Mullins, the Oceania General Secretary.

As part of his role, Larsen will chair the newly-formed Global Calendar Unit. The Unit, which is currently chaired by World Athletics CEO Jon Ridgeon, has been established to lead, manage and coordinate all parts of the global athletics calendar from World to National Championships and all competitions in between.

Its aim is to create a 3 to 4 year long-term, constantly updated global calendar to make the competition schedule across the globe easier to understand and follow for all stakeholders. Membership of the Unit is from all six areas.

Kenya’s fight against the doping menace received a boost with the appointment of Adak’s Mandu to the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) education committee.

In a letter confirming the appointment, Wada director general, Olivier Niggli, thanked Mandu for her contribution and commitment.
