Bandari returned top winnng ways after a spirited 2-1 win over KCB in a Kenyan Premier League match at Mbaraki Sports Club yesterday.

A moment of silence was observed before kick-off in honour of former President Daniel arap Moi, who was buried yesterday at his Kabarak home.

Bandari missed an opportunity in the 10th minute through Shaban Kenga whose goal-bound shot missed the target by a whisker.

Ugandan import William Wardi’s thunderbolt was blocked, which could have given the dockers an early lead. Two minutes into the second half, defender Dennis Odhiambo stripped Cliff Kasuti of the ball in the box for Wardi to superbly place the ball into the net for the first goal.

Coach Twahir Muhiddin introduced Yema Mwana, who has been out of action with an injury for Hamisi Mwinyi in the 57th minute. Mwana made his presence felt in the 75th minute after he dribbled past KCB goalkeeper to tap home the second goal.

The bankers pulled a goal back in the 82nd minute through Regan Otieno.
