The girlfriend of on-loan Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has had her car vandalised, with the word "LOSER" spray-painted onto it.

The German is currently at Turkish club Besiktas and recently completed his first year of a two-season loan deal.

Over the weekend, Karius suggested he would remain at the club next year despite suggestions he might end his stay with the Istanbul-based club over the summer.

However, the 25-year-old's partner Sophia Thomalla, shared a photo on Tuesday which showed her car with the word "Loser" written on it in white paint.

German model Thomalla, posted the pictures to her official Instagram with the caption "Na Klasse....” which can be translated as a sarcastic "great...."

Karius made the move to Turkey last summer after a disastrous performance for Liverpool in the Champions League final defeat against Real Madrid.

The German was at fault for two goals as Madrid won 3-1 in Kiev and was later sent out on loan after the Reds sealed the signing of Brazilian Alisson.

Karius had a turbulent start to his time at Besiktas and it looked like the two-year deal could be cut short.

It was reported that he asked FIFA to take action over unpaid wages and he received criticism from manager Senol Gunes after making some errors in matches.

However, the stopper has since recovered from the early issues and seemed to commit to the team for next season.

On Sunday, he wrote on Instagram: "The beginnings are always the hardest, especially if you come to a new country, to new people, to a new culture.

"But the whole club, the whole family of Besiktas Istanbul, with its amazing fans and its fascinating club atmosphere, made it easy for me.

"Easy to get fully focused on football, easy to feel comfortable in a new country and easy to have the support I need to live up to my potential.

"Thank you for your whole support on and off the pitch and for welcoming me to your famous and wonderful Besiktas family. #LK1".
