National women hockey champions Telkom are among teams that have confirmed participation in the inaugural national five-a-side hockey tournament this weekend at Mombasa Sports Club. Diamond Trust Bank gave a sponsorship of Sh100, 000 through its Coast region General Manager Jacob Shibu. Mombasa County Hockey Association Secretary Feisal Yasin said 12 men's and eight women's teams, among them Telkom, Kenya Police and Karate, will be in action. “The tournament will be on a league cum knock-out basis and all teams must comply with regulations in place," said Yasin.
