Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is set to return to the Premier League after agreeing to a deal with Leicester City Football club to replace the sacked Claude Puel.

The former English Premier League Champions will land the former Liverpool manager after the two clubs were said to have agreed a deal in principle.

The 46-year-old Northern Irishman is expected to make his move in the next 24 hours.

Former boss Neil Lennon is set to replace him at Celtic.

As previously reported by some British publications, initial inquiries were made in December last year but the Leicester manager survived by virtue of wins over Manchester City and Chelsea.

Rodgers had planned to see out the campaign with Celtic but has found it hard to resist the offer to return to the Premier League.

He reportedly said his farewells at Celtic's training ground on Monday night.

The former Reds tactician will be joined by the former Ivory Coast international Kolo Toure when the move is finalised.
