Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp isn’t shutting the door on potential new faces in January.

The Reds sit four points clear at the top of the Premier League table and remain unbeaten in the league this term.

But questions have been asked as to whether the Reds chief will look to strengthen when the transfer window opens next month.

Last season brought the £75million arrival of Virgil van Dijk, and the Dutchman played a huge part in the side's run to the Champions League final - and is once more impressing at the heart of defence this term.

Christian Pulisic has once more been linked with a reunion with Klopp, with the US international entering the final 18 months of his contract at Borussia Dortmund.

Klopp has told fans not to expect the club to spend record sums next month, he is open to adding to his squad.

However, he insists he won't merely be adding for the sake of it.

"I keep the door open because if something happens we need to have a look,” said Klopp on Monday. "If something more happens we need to have a look.

"I'm very happy with what I've got, but you don't know.

"That's why I always keep the door open, in case something happens. We have a lot of games coming up and as long as we can react, it's all good. If something dramatically changes, we'll look.

"If nothing happens, we will not do anything."

Van Dijk has emerged as a major player for the Reds since his arrival 12 months ago and has been the cornerstone of a defence that has conceded just seven times in 18 league games so far.

He scored the second in the 2-0 win at Wolves on Friday night also - his first goal since netting on his debut in the FA Cup third round against Everton.

"He is very, very, very influential," said Klopp. "When I first met him I thought I knew about his personality. I was pretty sure he would be like he is."
