Paul Pogba will not agitate for a move away from Manchester United in the January transfer window.

United's record £89million signing still has issues with boss Jose Mourinho, but is set to remain at Old Trafford until at least next summer.

Pogba's agent Mino Raiola tried to engineer a move from United for his client in the summer, with Barcelona the France World Cup winner's preferred destination.

But United refused to countenance Pogba's sale, having bought him back from Juventus, despite clear tension between the 25-year-old and his manager.

It is understood Pogba has since held talks with Mourinho about his predicament and reached an understanding whereby all talk of his future is on hold until at least next summer.

Sir Alex Ferguson had a 'one more season' pact with Cristiano Ronaldo in 2008, eventually allowing him to join Real Madrid the following year for a then world record fee of £80million.

Similarly, Pogba is said to have accepted he will not be allowed to leave United until next summer at the earliest, although the Frenchman is almost certain to make a fresh bid to leave then.

The lure of playing in Spain – or a return to Juventus, with his old club monitoring his situation - is proving hard to resist for Pogba, while his strained relationship with Mourinho is also a key factor.

After a poor start to the season, Pogba improved in United's 2-0 win at Burnley on Sunday, although the midfielder missed from the penalty spot in the second-half.
