It still feels a little strange to see Cristiano Ronaldo in a Juventus shirt.

The Real Madrid legend departed the Santiago Bernabeu this summer after a remarkable 450 goals in 438 Real appearances over nine years, ending an incredible era in the Spanish capital.

Until he was actually announced as a Juve player the thought of him playing for anyone else seemed fanciful, but Real fans are now having to get used to life without the star they idolised.

And they want to know who the club will bring in to replace him.

To gauge the opinion of the fans, Spanish publication Marca ran a poll asking supporters who they want to replace Ronaldo, and it attracted nearly 200,000 responses.

Marca gave the fans nine options - one of which being "other" - and asked them to vote on who could come in to be the club's new prime goalscorer.

And the winner? None other than World Cup Golden Boot winner Harry Kane.

The Spurs forward amassed 26 per cent of the vote, making him a clear winner ahead of Edinson Cavani and Mauro Icardi who were both on 14 per cent.

Former Real youth forward Mariano - who scored 21 goals for Lyon last season - is next with a surprisingly high 12 per cent, level with Robert Lewandowski.

Who Real Madrid fans want to sign to replace Ronaldo

Harry Kane - 26%

Edinson Cavani - 14%

Mauro Icardi - 14%

Mariano - 12%

Robert Lewandowski - 12%

Alvaro Morata - 8%

Rodrigo - 6%

Other - 5%

Roberto Firmino - 2%

Next comes Alvaro Morata (8 per cent) and Valencia and Spain's Rodrigo (6 per cent), with 'Other' (5 per cent) coming out ahead of last-placed Roberto Firmino, who earned just 2 per cent.

Whether or not Real ever make a move for Kane remains to be seen, but it seems as though the fans certainly want them to.
