Forget Alice in Wonderland, this is real! It was a star-studded ceremony that could easily be the wedding of the year. This is Ali Kiba’s wedding to a Mombasa girl.
A Sh50 million affair that brought together celebrated music stars, billionaire businessmen and high ranking politicians; among then the Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, who had to cut short his overseas business trip to host the newlyweds.
Ali Kiba and his team from Tanzania had jetted in earlier in the week with goodies. The events that happened before yesterday’s 7am wedding were a work of precision. Never before has the Internet gotten so sensational with breaking news of a wedding like this, when Ali Kiba, said ‘I do’ to his Mombasa lover, a quiet girl few knew before this big day.
For weeks, the rumours had been doing the rounds, with blogs running stories of the two having wedded three weeks ago; others claiming it had been postponed.... Until the real nuptials went down.
It started with an Islamic ceremony at Ummullkthum Mosque – a ceremony reserved for men after which Ali Kiba got the consent to go receive his bride, the gorgeous Amina for the evening ceremony – Nikkah – an overnight affair that went on until the wee hours of today morning.
Amina, the 23-year-old beauty who stole Ali Kiba’s heart had Mombasa Governor – Joho, her employer witnessing; together with the bride and the bridegrooms families who looked amazing in ceremonial outfits and other trappings of fame and fortune.
“The two met in 2016 and this was love on first sight. They are truly an enviable couple,” said Jamal Gaddafi, the celebrated KTN showbiz host who was part of the team dressing Ali Kiba and coordinating the programme. Also helping him keep the looks topnotch was Eric One Wash, the glamour Nairobi designer and hair fashion specialist.
“Amina works in Governor Joho’s office. She is know as the quiet humble girl. She is truly a nice person and we believe she has found happiness in this union,” said an inside source.
Pulse has established that out of the Sh50 million budgeted for the wedding, a big chunk went to the dowry and evening party as well as the honeymoon expenses as the two proceed to Italy. They will leave today evening.
For some time now, Ali Kiba, the Seduce Me singer had been engaged in negotiations with Amina’s family; even as some ugly moments played out between the two lovers with Ali Kiba’s ex-girlfriends trying to derail the process.
And the differences played all the way to the end. When the first photo of the wedding went online yesterday morning all one of Ali Kiba’s ex-lovers commented was “Lol”.
