Barcelona were dumped out of the Champions League on Tuesday night in one of the most famous comebacks in European football history.

The Blaugrana put one foot in the semi-finals with a 4-1 win over Roma at the Nou Camp last week, but no-one could have foreseen what was to follow in the Stadio Olimpico.

Roma won 3-0 on the night to make the score 4-4 on aggregate, but their strike in Catalonia a week ago meant they progressed to the semi-finals on away goals.

Barcelona were among the favourites to lift the trophy having not lost a game in the competition, or in La Liga, so far this season going into Tuesday evening.

But they crumbled under the pressure and cauldron-like atmosphere in Italy and will now watch from the comfort of their homes as Roma join Liverpool in the last four, with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich the favourites to join them.

As you'd expect, the Spanish press was damning of Barcelona's display and their unlikely exit from the Champions League.

Juventus will need to register a similarly seismic shock to give Italy a second representative in the last four.

The Bianconeri travel to the Spanish capital to take on Real Madrid in the Bernabeu, trailing 3-0 after the first leg in Turin.

Elsewhere, Bayern Munich host Sevilla boasting a 2-1 advantage from the first fixture.
