Amit Modi of Spears Club was in top form to dispatch Victor Ndege and storm the semi-finals of the ongoing 2018 edition of Inter-Club Darts tournament at Nairobi Gymkhana yesterday.

In the hotly contested battle, Modi dominated Ndege with superb serving and finished him off with the last set to reach the last four. A number of amateur players did cause some upsets with Gaurav Bhandari and Pravin Halai of Gymkhana defeating Victor Ndege and John Wahome of Mang Club in the initial games.

Some 32 players took part. The preliminaries were played in round robin, followed by knockout stage, quarter-finals, semi-finals and the finals.

The 32 players were drawn from Spears Darts Club, Mang Dart Club, Ruaraka Club Darts Team and hosts Gymkhana Darts Team. Darts legends Peter Nduati, Chetan Jobanputra, Ashwin Halai and Henry Gichui also took part.

The organising committee led by Biren Shah and Rasik Shah of Nairobi Gymkhana was pleased with the turnout. [Robin Toskin]
