20 players selected for the men’s senior Kenya volley ball national team camp

Kenya men’s senior volleyball team has named twenty players in Nairobi on the afternoon of September Saturday 17th after the Wote tournament.

The team is set to start intensive training ahead of the FIVB 2018 men world championship qualifiers which will be held in Cairo, Egypt from 20th to 30th October 2017.

Speaking via social media, the secretary General Kenya Volleyball Federation Mr. Ben Juma on behalf of the National Executive released the players’ names who have been summoned to report for training on Tuesday September 19th 2017.

The squad was selected after the successful completion of the 2017 Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Challenge Cup in Wote town, Makueni County. The tournament saw Kenya prisons teams being unlucky in both categories when they fell out in the finals. Their men were whipped by GSU in the finals and the women had no luck against KCB.

General Service Unit (GSU) won the men’s’ category during the event in Makueni when they faced out a tough Kenya prisons, 3-2 (25-17, 18-25, 25-23,25-27 and 15-11.

The women category saw the emergence of once champions Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) who took the top honors. They won the 2017 KVF Challenge Cup by beating Prisons Kenya team 3-2 ( 25-13, 25-22, 25-27, 23-25, 17-25)

The Technical Director will release the training program later this week added the statement from the secretary general. Ismail Chege has been named Team manager and will supervise head coach Moses Epoloto during the camp. His assistant will be Paul Muthinja.
