Vihiga Queens, who finished second behind winners Thika Queens in their first top league appearance last season, have amassed 21 points from eight rounds of matches.
Oserian Ladies, who have yet to loss a match this season, are one point behind. Speaking to The Standard Sports, Queens coach Alex Alumira remained hopeful of finishing top of the zone.
"We can't afford to drop a point at this point in the season. Every team wants to remain at the top by the end of the season.
Oserian is a good side and like last season, we will play until the last match to determine the winner of the zone," he said. [Rebecca Jebet]
