Boxing Association of Kenya has appealed to the Government to release funds to help in the national team's preparations ahead of the World Boxing Championships in Hamburg, Germany, from August 25 to September 3.

BAK Vice President Albert Matito said the funds would enable the federation and the technical bench to work out modalities on how the team could perform better at the global championships.

"Our desire is to win medals at the global event but a better performance is only guaranteed with adequate preparations, which have to start early enough," he said.               [Ben Ahenda]
