West Ham hope to finalize switch for ex-Manchester United star Javier Hernandez

West Ham are reportedly edging closer to finalising a deal for former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.

Hammers chief Slaven Bilic has been desperately trying to bring in a big name forward all summer.

According to the Daily Mirror, they are ready to meet the £13million release clause in his Bayer Leverkusen contract to land him.

Hernandez became a huge fan favourite at Old Trafford but was hardly used as first-choice frontman during his memorable five-year stint with the Red Devils.

West Ham believe that he will be leading their attack at the London Stadium this campaign and plan to hold further talks with his advisers.

The Hammers have been linked with a number of forwards over the past month.

Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud and Manchester City ace Kelechi Iheanacho have all been mooted as targets.
