Paris Saint Germain have attempted to beat Arsenal and Real Madrid to Kylian Mbappe by offering in excess of £119m.

PSG are hoping they can steal a march on their rivals for teenage sensation Mbappe, according to Goal.

The fee would be a world record fee beating the £90m splashed by Manchester United for Paul Pogba last summer.

Hit man Mbappe is one of the hottest properties in Europe having scored 26 times in 44 appearances in a breakthrough season for Monaco.

France international Mbappe helped the side capture a Ligue 1 title, while also reaching the Champions League semi-finals.

Monaco are in no rush to sell Mbappe, having already received a £43m windfall from selling Bernardo Silva to Manchester City earlier this summer.

The Gunners had made Mbappe their No.1 transfer target this summer and will therefore need to act quickly and make their interest official to stay in the hunt.

Speaking to French publication Le Parisien , the relative said: "Wenger is a great man. If Kylian signs for Arsenal tomorrow, it will be for him.

"He knows how to shape young players and especially the former strikers of the French team, Thierry Henry and Nicolas Anelka.

"The Europa League is not an obstacle in itself."
