Kenya national football team coach Stanley Okumbi has continued with his vision of building a youthful team for the future.

The Harambee Stars tactician named AFC Leopards duo of Whyvonne Isuza and Vincent Oburu for the upcoming two international friendly matches against Uganda Cranes and DRC Congo on March 23 and 26.

Others, who have been handed their maiden call-ups for the two matches to be hosted either at Nyayo Stadium or Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos, include Jeremiah Wanjala (Kakamega Homeboyz), Samuel Onyango (Ulinzi Stars) and Maurice Ojwang (Western Stima).

The six are among the 26 local-based players, who will report to camp at Kasarani Stadium on March 19. Their Foreign-based counterparts will join them later.

The two friendlies are part of Harambee Stars’ preparations for the upcoming 2019 AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone in June.

This will be the second meeting between Kenya and the two sides in less than one year. Kenya drew 0-0 with hosts Uganda Cranes, before they defeated the Leopards of Congo 1-0 in Kinshasa.

“It is a dream true. As a player, I feel great and it is a honor to get a national team call up. I want to get used to the moment before I start to fight for a place in the team. But generally, I am more than excited,” Isuza told Feverpitch.

Okumbi has also recalled Thika United's Sammy Meja.
