Leicester fans party throughout the night

Thousands of fans partied through the night after celebrating Leicester’s Premier League title success.

The Foxes paraded the trophy around the city centre on an open-top bus parade which was attended by an estimated quarter of a million people.

Streets across Leicester were closed as supporters tried to catch a glimpse of the unlikely title heroes with the trophy.

The team started at Jubilee Square in the city centre before making their way to Victoria Park, where the team greeted the supporters with a special event on stage.

And after watching Claudio Ranieri and their heroes hoist the trophy once more thousands partied into the night.

Streets across the city were packed with jubilant fans as they toasted the Foxes' fairytale 5000/1 title triumph.

Fans had earlier gathered to listen to the thoughts of the likes of Jamie Vardy, Wes Morgan and Claudio Ranieri.

Highlights of the season's most memorable moments were broadcast across big screens for the masses to watch, as every goal was once again celebrated.

"I heard a little rumour this morning that we're expecting 250,000 people. Look what it means to them all. All the shops are shut, everyone's hanging out their windows, people are stood on the roofs.

"It's brilliant, what a day.

"It's been an unbelievable achievement. I'll wait until it does sink in and then I think I'll have a few days to myself." Said Verdy

The Foxes, ranked as 5,000-1 outsiders at the start of the season, secured the first title in the club's 132-year history at the end of a quite remarkable campaign, finishing 10 points ahead of Arsenal.

Manager Ranieri also paid tribute to the supporters who turned the city blue.

The Italian said: "It is unbelievable. All the city's here, it's something special. A lot of people happy, I'm very, very glad.

"Thank you to all the people."

Speaking on the stage at Victoria Park, Morgan said: "What we have achieved this season is fantastic. Everyone involved with Leicester has contributed to it and you cannot take that away from us."

The defender sees no reason why the Foxes cannot meet the challenges of next season head on.

He added: "(The Champions League) is unknown territory for the boys, but we are confident we will put on our best show and are looking forward to it."
