Muhoroni Youth hitman Ochomo ready to inflict pain on former club Gor Mahia

Kenyan Premier League leading goal scorer Wycliffe Ochomo is relishing the prospect of facing his former club Gor Mahia.

The Muhoroni Youth hit-man will be leading his side against last season’s champions at the Moi Stadium, Kisumu, today.

Ochomo seems to be enjoying the form of his life after scoring nine goals in eleven league matches for Muhoroni, who are tied on points (17) with sixth-placed Gor Mahia.

But with both teams coming off wins in the Top 8 Knockout tournament, the former Ulinzi Stars forward has warned the defending champions to be ready for a tough match.

“I am glad to meet my former team when I’ve hit my best form. I’ve a lot of respect for Gor Mahia because they are the ones who made me whom I am today. I had my best times there and it was there that I made my name.

“It’s always exciting to meet them because I might have some influence on the game,” Ochomo said.

“But as you all know, it is not going to be an easy match. Both of us are in a winning mentality and we are eager for maximum points.”

But his Gor Mahia counterpart Jacques Tuyisenge, who has scored five goals in six matches for K’ogalo, is looking forward to a great game.

“I’ve never seen Muhoroni play, this will be my first time to play against them. But with the preparation we have had and the mood in the team, we are ready to face them. We will give our best to get good results,” said Tuyisenge.

The highlight of the weekend will be tomorrow’s double-header at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Mathare United host Western Stima while AFC Leopards play Posta Rangers.

Meanwhile, Tusker went back to the KPL summt yesterday after a 1-0 win over Kakamega Homeboyz at Mumias Complex. Stephen Owusu scored the all-important goal.
