It was interesting, fun-filled complete with heated competing moments at Impala Sports Club playgrounds as Standard Group staff went at each yesterday.

From football to carrying water baskets it depended on speed, accuracy and power to earn points.

The day lived to its promise, full of fun and bonding for the company’s many employees where among others football, table tennis, swimming, basketball took place.

From cheering and following the rules of the game, everything counted for Giniwasekao, Captains, Game Yetu, Pace Setters, Team Cheche and Invincibles teams.

By the time we were going to press, track events were taking place.

With Sh100,000 for winners, Sh50,000 for runners-up and Sh 30,000 for second runners-up, it was a competitive affair the whole day.

Group’s Chief Executive Officer Sam Shollei while opening the games, charged all teams to give their best on the field but more so use the event to bond.

Yesterday’s events reflected the holistic spirit that Standard Group endorses in pursuing unity and bonding among its staff across all departments.

Imperatively, the tent of medical screening by the APA medical personnel was full with the aim of ensuring staff know their health status.

Sophia Wanuna, presenter  of Morning Express playing for Giniwasekao quipped: “It has been exciting seeing staff members in different perspective especially while cheering, no daily suits, competing spirit.”  Winners were to be awarded later in the evening.
