Hundreds of fish have died in Lake Naivasha under unexplained circumstances.

According to residents, the most affected are immature fish which were found floating near the shores of the lake along Kamere beach.

Residents expressed fears that they could have been poisoned. Irate fishermen attempted to raid a local hotel where foreign fishermen have been camping, vowing to confiscate their equipment and boats.

They accused the Chinese fishermen of being behind the suspected poisoning and the hotel's management of colluding with the Chinese to kill the local fishing sector.

Police cordoned off the hotel to prevent the fishermen from storming in.
