Defending champions KCB and perennial rivals Kabras Sugar RFC continued with their dominance in the Kenya Cup after stretching their unbeaten runs with easy wins over the weekend.

The Bankers picked their fifth bonus point victory of the season by humiliating Mwamba 50-3 at KCB Sports Club to maintain their three-point lead atop the standings.

KCB are leading on the log with 33 points after the victory, which saw them maintain their seven-match unbeaten run.

They picked bonus points in five matches and missed the bonus mark in two matches, a result that gives Kabras Sugar an upper hand.

The Sugar Millers are second in the league standings with 30 points but with a game in hand after seeing off Menengai Oilers 38-9 in their new home ground, Nandi Bears Club, in Nandi County.

Kabras are also unbeaten in their last six-matches. Having picked bonus points in all six matches, the Kakamega-based side can leapfrog the bankers if they win their game in hand.

Meanwhile, there is a 13-point gap between Kabras and third-placed Menengai Oilers.

Oilers, who lost to Kabras, have 17 points from seven matches having won three matches and drawn once.

Strathmore Leos’ resurgence has seen them storm into the top four with 16 points. The Louis Kisia charges, who are on a four-match unbeaten run, picked their third win of the season after they defeated Nakuru 44-5 to enter the semi-final bracket.

Impala, who did not have any fixtures this weekend, have dropped to fifth with 11 points. They are level on points with their neighbours Kenya Harlequins, who drew 17-17 with MMUST.

Nondies are the biggest climbers of the weekend, rising from bottom spot to seventh with 10 points after just four matches. Nakuru and MMUST have also bagged 10 points but have an inferior point difference.

The bottom two has Mwamba with eight points and Blak Blad with seven points.
