President Uhuru presides over KDF pass out parade

President Uhuru Kenyatta (pictured) is at the Recruit Training School (RTS) Moi Barracks in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County to preside over a pass out of new Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers.

The soldiers – Kenya Army, Kenya Navy and Airforce who have concluded their military training are set to take their oath of allegiance to defend the country’s borders.

The Head of State has already landed at the training school.

For the first time since independence, the public have been barred from attending the event due the Covid-19 pandemic.

KDF through its social media page yesterday issued a public notice: “Recruits Passing Out Parade will be held Thursday, September 2020. Members of the public are informed that, in keeping with Covid-19 regulations on gatherings, the event is NOT open to the public.”

Families and friends were advised to follow the event live on KBC.
