A middle-aged man was yesterday lynched by a mob in Uasin Gishu after he allegedly attempted to rob a woman.

The deceased was caught with stones in a polythene bag. The  woman had alighted from a matatu when the man tried to rob her.

"We were able to identify the man as part of a dangerous gang that has been hitting people with stones at night before stealing from them," said Tom Onyango a resident.

Eldoret West OCPD Tom Achia confirmed that the suspect's body is lying at Moi Teaching and Referral mortuary.
