Unite or lose to CORD, Jubilee leaders warned

The Opposition will win all the positions in the county if Jubilee leaders don't unite, a Cabinet secretary has said.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery yesterday urged gubernatorial aspirants allied to Jubilee to meet and select a formidable candidate to square it out with the incumbent, David Nkedianye.

Speaking during a graduation party at Kenya Meat Commission Chairman Taraiya ole Kores's home in Olondokilani, Kajiado Central, Mr Nkaissery warned the aspirants against dividing the electorate along clan and tribal lines.

"I'm addressing you as a senior leader in this county. I know the law does not allow me to politic, but I cannot be stopped from pointing out my stand," he said.

Nkaissery said ODM was already dead and Jubilee leaders should fight to retain all the seats, including wrestling the governorship from Dr Nkidianye of CORD.

"As a public servant I am not supposed to indulge in active politics but there is a matter I would wish to clarify. I am in the Jubilee party to stay. People associate me with the Opposition and some think I will go back to ODM after serving my tenure as an interior CS. Get it from me that I shifted from the party with all my people and belongings and no more turning back," Nkaissery said.

The CS said the Jubilee Government's agenda revolves around development and the interest of all Kenyans.

"Kenyans want peace and development to all. It is only the Jubilee Party agenda that can achieve that. It's fighting tribalism by all means and applying democracy and justice to all Kenyans," he said.

The CS praised Kores and Daniel Nina alias Livondo for acquiring degrees, saying they now qualify to vie in the general election next year.
