The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) has said it backs teachers in the push to have the Government honour the 50-60 per cent salary raise.

The Opposition is also on course with the impeachment motion against President Uhuru Kenyatta for his alleged continued violation of the law and Constitution.

"The can't pay, won't pay attitude, is not and will not be the solution to the problem. We will continue to press the Government to honour the 50-60 per cent salary increase which it proposed through the Teachers Service Commission," said the Opposition.

CORD co-principals Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Senator Moses Wetang'ula yesterday at Orange House, resolved to proceed with the impeachment vote.

"We are on course with our motion of impeachment against President Uhuru Kenyatta for his continued violation of the law and the Constitution. Our grounds for this motion are concrete and substantive, based on clear facts and the Constitution," said Ford Kenya Secretary General Eseli Simiyu in a statement.
