Narc Kenya Secretary General Ngali dies suddenly, leaders mourn

VOI: Grief has engulfed Taita Taveta County following the sudden death of former high commissioner Mwanyengela Ngali who until his demise was Narc Kenya Secretary General.

Leaders in Taita-Taveta County said Friday they had received the sad news with shock and disbelief.

Ngali who unsuccessfully vied for the Wundanyi Parliamentary seat in 2007 and the gubernatorial one in the last general election of 2013 died at the Nairobi Hospital on Thursday night.

Chairman of the Kenya Revenue Authority and former Cabinet Minister Major (Rtd) Marsden Madoka and Ambassador Mwabili Kisaka sent messages of condolences to the bereaved family who hails in Wumingu location, Taita Sub County.

"It is a very sad moment to lose a long-time friend and colleague. There is nothing that we can do. Let's pray for the bereaved family so that it can bare the loss," said Ambassador.

"The former Permanent Secretary family called me in the morning to break the sad news," said Mr Ngali.

Maj Madoka said the deceased had first complained of head ache and was taken to the hospital where he passed on. Speaking to The Standard, the former Mwatate MP said family, relatives and friends would be meeting staring from today for funeral arrangements.

At his Wumingu home, the grief-stricken family, friends and relatives were still coming to terms with the tragedy.

The former Ambassador served as PS Energy and chairman of the Kenya Pipeline Company.
