Kabogo is embarrassing the President, Duale says

Kenya: The Leader of Majority in Parliament Aden Duale and four other MPs has asked Governor William Kabogo to stop embarrassing the President by sparking debates that subject Kiambu County to ignominy.

MPs Alice Nganga (Thika), Kimani Ichungwa (Kikuyu), Kigo Njenga (Gatundu North) and Beatrice Nyaga (Tharaka County) accused Kabogo of disrespecting women and asked him to apologise.

Kabogo said single people should not vie for elective posts since they do not hold good values.

Mr Duale said being President Uhuru Kenyatta’s home, Kiambu County is special and deserves respect and any bad image is an embarrassment to the President.

“Kiambu is special to Jubilee Government because it’s the President’s home and should. Kabogo use a speed governor, your speed is so fast and stop insulting women and subjecting the county to ignominy, they gave you votes and now you are insulting them,” Duale said.

They were speaking in Kayiha in Kikuyu during a fundraiser for a secondary school construction.

Alice said the issues she is raising are not personal but of public interest and accused Kabogo of getting personal with public affairs.

She accused him of fuelling propaganda that she led a group of hooligans in Thika that looted businesses and robbed residents during the protest.

“I am a simple person who never holds grudges. He should accept he made insensitive remarks, apologise and we move on,” she said.
