Miracles made at City Hall

Mr Ngumi Kibera would like to give city Governor Evans Kidero some unsolicited advice. But before that he wants to congratulate to the city Water department for some miracles that he witnessed.

Listen to him: “I called the other day and the number really worked — Miracle number 1. Next, they actually answered (miracle 2). They actually had the number I wanted; the City Council Rates department (miracle 3). And, miracle 4: The man who answered was not only friendly but actually had a sense of humour! Now that takes the cake, I dare say!”

As for his unsolicited advice, Kibera would the Governor to allow land owners to pay rates through mobile cash transfer  platforms.

This, he says, would help the Governor to get the money he badly needs, quickly. “The reason why many people wait until City Hall starts barking dangerously is because they have little time to go queueing in banks,” he says. He also suggests that parking fees be charged by locality. Kibera for instance says it’s unfair for those who park in muddy and dusty places like Kenyatta Market to pay Sh140. What say ye, Dr Kidero?
