St Charles Lwanga Ichuni rescued school girls from early marriage, groomed them to top CEOs

The school was founded in 1960 by Catholic mission under Rev. Fr. Joseph Oucho as a girls only day primary and intermediate school.

Due to the fact that girls were viewed as source of wealth and married off early, Father Oucho changed the school to a boarding institution in 1965 and served as the headteacher until 1970.
