Kisii man kills sister-in-law, two children

Police in Kisii have arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly killing his brother's wife and children in Mesaria village, Kitutu Chache North Kisii.

The man allegedly hacked to death the victims on Tuesday evening before surrendering to police hours later.

Police said the suspect, Alex Ayata Migosi, who fled after committing the murder, was put in custody at Rioma Police Station upon surrendering.

A statement by the DCI said that moments before the savage attack on the 27-year-old woman and her two children, aged four and three, neighbours reported to have  witnessed a heated argument between the murder suspect and his brother Patrick Omuga over an unknown matter.

"In an abominable resolve to settle scores, Ayata sneaked into the brother's house wielding a machete, cold-bloodedly slaying the helpless trio to the horror and condemnation of the neighbourhood," the DCI said in a statement.

The suspect will be arraigned in court on Thursday.

This incident come barely a week after a man stabbed a 22-year-old Kisii Polytechnic student believed to be his ex-girlfriend.

Stephen Orengo is said to have trailed Lucy Boke to her house on Thursday last week and murdered her over what neighbours and friends suspect to be love gone sour.

The suspect travelled from his home in Kuria West, where he is on industrial attachment, to Jogoo Estate in Kisii where he stabbed the woman to death using a kitchen knife.

The suspect was later roughed up by a mob before being rescued by the police and taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital. He will face murder charges.
