Police looking for a suspected defiler

Police in Ndhiwa Sub County are looking for a man who allegedly defiled a 12-year-old girl.

The victim is nursing serious injuries at the Ndhiwa Sub County Hospital

She was defiled at a village in North Kanyikela Location on Sunday evening.

The man reportedly got hold of the girl when she was walking back home and defiled her in a sugarcane plantation telling her not to raise an alarm or he would kill her.

The girl was later rescued by a community health volunteer (CHV), Cyprian Achar, who was passing by the plantation.

Achar heard the sounds coming from the plantation and he went to check what was happening.

However, the suspect realized someone was going to catch him, he left the girl and run deep into the plantation.

Achar took the minor to the area chief before she was rushed to the hospital with a medical examination confirming her defilement.  

North Kanyikela Location Chief Elijah Abuto said the suspect has not been identified.

“He ran away when he realized he was going to be caught. He disappeared and nobody has seen him today,” Abuto said.

Abuto said he had liaised with Police at Ndhiwa Police Station to aid investigations and arrest of the suspect.

Kanyikela MCA Sylvance Wanjala asked police to speed up the investigation into the incident.

“We are asking police to speed the investigations to enable the arrest of the suspect,” Wanjala said.
