Homa Bay governor candidate Evans Kidero wants the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to provide him with crucial materials to build a petition against Gladys Wanga's win.

He says the materials will enable him put together a foolproof case against the declaration of the former Woman Rep as the winner of the governor's election.

Through his lawyer Okwe Achiando, Kidero has written to IEBC Chief Executive Officer Hussein Marjan to provide him with the materials within seven days. The letter dated August 22, 2022 has also copied to Homa Bay County Returning Officer Fredrick Apopa.

The materials include copies of all forms 34,35,36,37,38 and 39A, 39B and 39C from all polling stations and tallying centres.

He also wants an audit of what each Kenya Integrated Election Management System (KIEMS) kit transmitted from all polling stations to the tallying centres. Further, he is seeking the IP address of each KIEMS kit used during the election.

The former Nairobi governor wants GPRS location of each KIEMS kit used during the election between August 8 and August 11.

All SD ( secure digital) cards, polling station allocation for each KIEMS kit and count of number of voters identified by each kit used in the election are also needed.

He is also seeking poll diaries in respect of all polling stations, copy of manual registers used, count of number of voters identified manually and count of number of voters identified alphanumerically.

"Kindly take not that we expect our client to receive the documents within seven days to enable him actualise and realise his constitutional rights as enshrined in the Constitution," Achiando wrote.

He warned they will take further legal action if IEBC fails to deliver documents within the stipulated time.
