By Isaiah Gwengi | October 28th 2021

Two children died after they were burnt in their house in Usoga village, Bondo sub-county.

The two, Roseline Adhiambo and Maryanne Akoth, were sleeping in their house when the incident happened.

According to the West Yimbo chief Paul Olang' said the children's mother Nancy Awuor was not at home during the incident.

Bondo sub-county police boss Roseline Chebosho told The Standard that the fire started and spread fast to the mattress where the children were sleeping.

"They were three children but one of them escaped unhurt and alerted the neighbours who rushed the two to the hospital," said Chebosho.

She added that the two were rushed to Got Agulu hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival.

The bodies have been moved to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
