The oldest son of former Cabinet Minister Simeon Nyachae says the patriarch is admitted in hospital.

In the last 15 hours, social media has been awash with unauthenticated news about Nyachae’s death.

Nyachae’s eldest son, Charles Nyachae, through his social media accounts has dispelled the rumours that his father was no more.

“Dad is in hospital and is receiving treatment and appropriate care,” he posted.

On Facebook, he says “some person or persons created a fake Twitter Account… and earlier this evening tweeted that my father had died. Not true!!”

He thanked friends who have been concerned and have sought clarification. “Please keep him in prayers.”

Nyachae’s eldest grandson; Nyandusi Nyachae said; “I pray for us as Kenyans to learn to practise Love daily and refuse hatred through false statements. To well-wishers please continue to pray for grandfather in his old age and health issues from time to time.”

South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro also dismissed the rumours and said he had visited the former powerful Provincial Administrator in hospital.

The family has interests in the banking sector, agriculture, manufacturing and construction.

Nyachae has been ailing for more than 10 years.
