Homa Bay, Kenya: A suspected cattle rustler was killed and another one seriously wounded by members of the public in Homa Bay County.

Joana Obiero, 35, died on arrival at Homa Bay District Hospital where he was rushed for medication after being attacked by the mob.

Obiero, alongside his two colleagues, were attacked near Arujo Bridge along the Homa Bay-Rongo road at dawn for allegedly stealing two animals from West Karachuonyo in the neighbouring Rachuonyo North District.

The seriously injured suspect was taken to Homa Bay District Hospital where he was treated and discharged before being apprehended by the police.

However, the third suspect escaped the wrath of the lynch mob during the incident. The three were found in possession of two cows belonging to George Ododa, a resident of West Karachuonyo.
