A fourth suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of Dirib Kombo chief George Godana.

Somo Huqa was arrested on January 7.

He appeared before Justice Anne Ongijo on Thursday together with Doyo Galgalo, Galmo Guyo Galgalo and Bokayo Dida Boru, who had appeared in court previously and taken plea before High Court Judge Said Chitembwe.

Justice Ongijo ruled that Huqa, who had not yet taken plea should remain in custody until the case is mentioned next on January 23.

“The accused has not been processed for plea taking and therefore he will remain in custody pending submission of the investigating officer’s affidavit to the court,” she ruled.

The State had applied for termination of proceedings on grounds that the probation report used to grant bail to the first three suspects had been falsified.

“Due process has to be followed. I don’t think writing a letter or submissions from the bar is sufficient to convince the court.”
