Dagoretti North residents demand action against rampant Illegal dumping in the area

Dagoretti North constituency in Nairobi is currently facing a severe crisis that poses significant risks to public health and safety following illegal dumpsites on the estate roads.
Residents complained that the area has become a site for illegal dumping as untouchable garbage cartels have transformed two major roads into dumping sites, creating an environmental nightmare for residents.

The residents said that rampant illegal dumping of solid waste in the Riruta area of Kawangware has set the stage for a potential public health disaster. They said that the accumulation of garbage not only emits repugnant odours but also provides a breeding ground for disease-carrying flies, putting thousands of residents at risk of disease outbreaks.
