Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua proved to be a man of few words today July 21 at a girls’ school in Murang'a County by delivering a short and amusing speech.

The DP took the podium at Mugoiri Girls' High School and delivered a speech that lasted for nearly four minutes.

Gachagua admitted that he was usually shy around many girls, confessing that he couldn't speak for long.

"I'm in a situation where I'm not able to say much. You know I'm a truthful person, and the truth of the matter is that I'm very shy when facing so many girls," Gachagua said.

Amidst the giggles and cheers from the crowd, Gachagua mentioned that he intended to keep his speech brief because of the female students looking at him.

He went on to reveal his weakness, which was "facing these girls."

"There is no one who doesn't have a weakness. We may look very strong, but with all these girls looking at me, I am not able to say much," Gachagua said.

He then shifted his speech to commend President William Ruto for his leadership and strategic guidance.

"On September 13 last year, in Kasarani, before God and men, you took the Bible and vowed to protect the constitution, and in that constitution, there is a provision to protect lives and property. And that is what we have done," Gachagua said.

He added that the country must move forward from the politics of blackmail.
