One person has been shot by the police in Kitengela town during Wednesday's demonstrations.

The middle-aged man, who was among hundreds of protesters who had overpowered the police during the protests, was rushed to hospital by means of a hand cart.

The protestors tried to invade the Kitengela Police Station but were repulsed by the police.

A police officer was also injured during the protest after a stone hit his head.

He was rushed to the Kitengela sub-county hospital where he is receiving treatment.
