Likely date that MP'S Jumwa, Dori will know their Fate

Embattled Opposition MPs Aisha Jumwa(Malindi) and Suleiman Dori(Msambweni) will know their fate on whether they will be expelled or not from Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party on March 1, when ODM's  National Governing Council meets.

In a notice seen by Standard Digital there is a call for a meeting to discuss a number of issues including consideration and decisions on National Executive Committee's recommendation on disciplinary matters.

Although the duo blames Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho for their woes, the two have been on record declaring their outright support to the Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid, a move said to have propelled their expulsion.

The two renegades are the only members of the party who the National Executive Committee recommended for expulsion on January.

In January, the  Orange Democratic Movement rejected an appeal by the two MPs filed through their lawyer Kipchumba Murkomen, seeking to have them reinstated to the party, saying it's top organ's decision cannot be challenged.

According to the law, once a party revokes membership, the same is communicated in writing to the Registrar of Political Parties who then strikes off the affected individuals from the roll of party's register.
