Nairobi ODM party chairman George Aladwa's incitement to violence case has been pushed to July 27 this year.

This is after Lawyer John Khaminwa made an application before Chief Magistrate Daniel Ogembo for adjournment of the case.

He said he was not ready to proceed Tuesday and requested for more time.

“I am not ready to proceed today because I am not well prepared,” said Khaminwa.

He added his colleague Harun Dubi could not make it to court Tuesday since he was handling a sick colleague.

Ogembo said he will grant them the final adjournment.

“The case should proceed during the next hearing,” said Ogembo.

Aladwa is out on a bond of Sh3 million with an alternative cash bail of Sh500, 000. Ogembo had earlier dismissed an application by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to have Mr Aladwa detained till the case is heard and determined.

The case will be heard on July 27.
