Governor Kidero signs MoU with IYF aimed at keeping the youth away from crime and drugs

Nairobi, Kenya:  Nairobi City County governor Dr Evans Kidero has today signed an MoU with International Youth Fellowship (IYF) aimed at enhancing collaboration between the County and IYF as well as ensuring wholesome development of the youth in Nairobi County.

Says Dr Kidero “This MoU is an excellent platform for Nairobi County youth who will benefit fully as it will focus on empowering the youth as well as imparting them with leadership skills. It will also be an avenue for the youth to keep busy and steer away from drugs and criminal activities.

We know that some of our leaders have been taking advantage of our youths’ idleness and recruiting them for their own personal objectives. We have also seen youths being lured to criminal activities like Al Shabab and outlawed criminal gangs.”

The MoU between the County government and the IYF will also facilitate training and sensitization of youths in Nairobi to ensure community harmonization, national cohesion and integration.

Chairman IYF William Kim said the partnership will enable Kenyan youths interact with Korean youths through various programs.

Kim said IYF will involve youths in exchange programs, cultural activities, lectures all aimed at empowering the youth.
