Court: Shollei has arguable case on her dismissal

By Wilfred Ayaga

NAIROBI, KENYA: Industrial Court on Friday ruled against reinstatement of Gladys Shollei as the chief registrar of the judiciary until a petition she had filed against her dismissal is heard and determined.

The court also declined to grant orders she had sought to halt the recruitment of new Registrar pending hearing and determination of her case.

The court however held that Shollei had an arguable case on the lack of impartiality by some of the JSC Commissioners who had recommended her sacking.

Lead counsel in the case of Gladys Boss Shollei had asked the Industrial court to reinstate her as the Chief Registrar of the Judiciary.

Donald Kipkorir submitted to the court that his client is willing to take compulsory leave if JSC ‘respondents’ feel she will interfere with the purported investigations.
