SURVEY: Ministry of Defence tops 2012 most corrupt departments

NAIROBI, KENYA: Ministry of Defence tops this year’s Ethics and Anti-Corruption list of most corrupt state departments.

The EACC national survey on corruption in Kenya 2012 shows that the Ministry of Defence (MOD) is the most corrupt prone with 50 per cent of Kenyans seeking services in the department is likely to part away with some money.

“25 per cent of those polled said they had actually paid a bribe to secure services at the DOD”  said the report.

Ministry of Transport is the second at 47.7 per cent followed by Provincial administration at 29.2 per cent.

Mombasa Water and Sewerage  Company is rated at number four  at 27.7 per cent , Ministry of Internal Security at 26.3 per cent while Kenya police closes top six chart of most corrupt at 25.3 per cent
